Ato MassIn the second letter of the Corinthians it reads:  “Whoever is in Christ is a new creation:  the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come,”  (2 Cor 5:17)

The old has passed and now we are living in a new era where the faithful of Saint Brigid’s and Saint Emeric unite, on this day, to continue the mission that God has entrusted upon us.

The faithful of the Church of Saint Brigid-Saint Emeric are called through the Sacraments and the Gospel to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.  In the spirit of faith, service, and community, we strive to bring people closer together and closer to God.  We accomplish this by:

  • Rediscovering the gift of faith;
  • Strengthening our lives through daily worship and prayer;
  • Contributing to the growth of our parish through Gospel teachings;
  • Opening our hearts so others can open their hearts to God through New     Evangelization;
  • Meeting the needs of our parish community by inviting everyone to serve;
  • Supporting our parish leaders, the Archdiocese of New York, and the Holy See in Rome;
  • Working together to fulfill the mission entrusted to us by God.

We welcome you to the Church of Saint Brigid – Saint Emeric and look forward to seeing you soon.

One Response to About

  1. Greetings, Father Ato,

    I am writing to ask if you might know where the very old baptismal records for St. Brigid’s Church are maintained. I am looking for the baptismal record of my great-grandmother Rose Foster, who was baptized at St. Brigid’s in April or May of 1887, a very long time ago and early in the church’s history. (Her parents were Walter Foster and Rose Lynch Foster.)
    Interestingly, I taught for a year at the then-St. Emeric’s Elementary School from 1973 – 74 as a teacher of ESL. After retiring as an educator, I now live in Nova Scotia, Canada.
    Hope your parish is thriving! Needless to say, if you have any sense of where I might find such old church records, I would appreciate it.
